National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the culture, heritage, and contributions of Hispanic Americans each year. The event began in 1968 to celebrate the contributions and achievements of the diverse cultures within the Hispanic community.
In honor of the month, I want to give a shoutout to my friend and fellow author Xochitl Dixon who wrote the children's book Different Like Me. This book features a wonderful variety of children with unique qualities.

Xochitl (So-Cheel) E. Dixon has a heart for loving God and people. Serving Jesus with her service dog, Callie, Xochitl encourages spiritual growth through community while celebrating the differences and sameness of God’s beautifully diverse people. Check out her other books at
